1. When summer’s in the city,
And brick’s a blaze of heat,
The Ice-cream Man with his little cart
Goes trundling down the street.
Word-Meanings-Summers (समज)-summer is, गर्मी का मौसम। Blaze (ब्लेज) bright flame of fire, आग की लपटे। Cart (काट) गाड़ी। Trundling (टुंडलिंग)-moving on wheels, पहियों पर चलता हुआ।
अनुवाद : जब शहर में गर्मी का मौसम होता है और ईंटें आग की लपटों जैसी दिखने लगती हैं, तब आईसक्रीम वाला अपनी छोटी गाड़ी को चलाता हुआ गली से गुजरता है।
